Artist X is a songwriter, vocalist and guitarist who has decided to release his music anonymously via the internet in an effort to keep the focus where it should be - on the music! Previously, Artist X had been pursuing a music career using his actual name. Although he hadn't exactly achieved worldwide fame, he had achieved a modest level of success in the music industry and his music had in fact been heard by millions of people. He decided to change the subjcect matter of his music and his role within the music industry after he went through what he describes as a “spiritual transformation”. 

The result of this transformation was a belief system that in many ways stood in direct contradiciton of the path that Artist X had been going down, with respect to his music career. He decided to focus his songwriting on issues that dealt with spiritual awareness and he also decided to release his music completely anonymously in an effort to “remove his ego from the process of making and marketing music as much as possible”. 

Musically Artist X draws from a rich variety of influences including Pink Floyd, Phish, Nick Drake, Sujfan Stevens, Joseph Arthur and much more. The subject matter of Artist X's music have been informed by such contemporary spirtual authors as Eckhart Tolle, Allan Watts, Ram Dass, Deepak Chopra and others.

A note from Artist X:  For the most part people have been extremely supportive of the way in which I am promoting my music.  However, a few have questioned my motives for not revealing my identity.  One of many realizations I have come to regarding the music industry is that often times there is more of an emphasis on the image of musicians than on the music itself.  This creates a problem for not only the music listener but for the musician as well.  In my own case, I found this condition of the music industry very much a distraction from the pure act of making music.  I am releasing my music anonymously in an effort to avoid this trapping.  I have a rich and satisfying private life and I can assure everyone that I am a real person.  Someone actually emailed me recently asking if I was “real”. I am also not affiliated with any major record labels as others have questioned me about.  I am very simply put a songwriter and my music is my message.  It is my sincere hope that you enjoy the music I create and that you find it uplifting and inspiring.
